Diane is a qualified art teacher (BEd) and practising artist who teaches and demonstrates art using the principles, skills, and techniques of watercolour painting in her art studio in the beautiful Scenic Rim. These learnt skills are applicable to any subject you want to paint, and you will be able to use them to develop your own unique style of painting, as you progress through the class.

You will find painting with watercolour the most expensive and difficult of all painting media, BUT it is the cleanest, very portable and most rewarding method of painting. With patience, perseverance and plenty of practice, you too can produce wonderful watercolours!

Basic Watercolour Course – Part One

A six week course for complete beginners, covering all the basic techniques you require to paint any subject. All principles, techniques and skills will be demonstrated by Diane who is an experienced artist as well as a qualified teacher.

The course is structured for the serious beginner who wants to learn how to paint successfully with watercolour. Freehand drawing skills are not part of Watercolour Courses.

A Painting is completed each week of the course where skills and techniques learnt are applied.

Diane’s one on one teaching methodology is designed to meet your specific needs and deliver total support to the student no matter what skill set they start with.Ā Ā 

Students are required and assisted to locate and purchase Artist Quality products – cheap products will give you very disappointing results.

Basic Watercolour Course – Part Two

This course covers application of the basic watercolour skills, techniques and principles learnt in Basic Watercolour Course – Part One to the following areas:

  • Composition
  • Textures
  • Still Life
  • Landscape Elements – Leaves, Sky, Branches, Sky, Ocean etc.
  • Seascape
  • The Figure
  • The Portrait

The advanced watercolour course – masterclass is designed to assist you to discover and strengthen your own personal style so it becomes as distinct as your own “signature” over time.
