Diane is a Qualified Teacher (BEd), Experienced Artist and Art Instructor who enjoys helping her students learn and practice their drawing skills in her Private Art Studio at Rochedale South.

Drawing is economical (you only need pencil, eraser and paper), very portable and such an enjoyable way of expressing yourself creatively in art. Good drawing skills can also be an excellent preliminary step when creating a great painting. 

Diane’s sessions are applicable to any subject you want to draw, and you will be able to develop your own unique style of drawing, as you progress through the class.

Like all skills, drawing can be learnt and improved with knowledge and practice.

Basic Drawing Course – Part One

A six week course for complete beginners, covering the principles, techniques and skills that will enable you to learn to draw. Drawing is a skill that can be easily learnt like any other subject, e.g. math, geography, sewing, playing the violin etc. The key to success is patience and practice.

This course covers:

  • Drawing Mediums and Papers       
  • Lines, Shapes and Values
  • The Human Body
  • Portraits
  • Contour Drawing
  • Perspective
  • Landscapes and Seascapes

Sessions:

One on One, 2 hours per week, over 6 weeks.

Cost is $549.00 (excluding art supplies)

Monday to Thursday, 9am to 8pm – times, class length and dates are negotiable to suit your needs and schedule.

Basic Drawing Course – Part Two

This is a continuation of the basic drawing course and is designed to take your drawing skills to the next level by further developing your your ability to capture value, texture and form in your drawing.

This course covers:

  • Composition and Design in Art
  • Animals – Structure, Features and Textures
  • Figures and Faces – Alternate Viewpoints and Detailed Features

Advanced Drawing  Course

Building on the solid foundation gained through your successful completion of the basic drawing course – part one and two, you now take the next step to developing your personal drawing style.

This course covers:

  • An in-depth study of the “Old Masters” drawing techniques
  • Light and Shadow
  • Applying three dimensional form to the Face and Body
  • Interpretation
  • Creating Original Work

Sessions:

One on One, 2 hours per week, over 6 weeks.

Cost is $749.00 (excluding art supplies)
